Utshwayelo Lodge

Why not extend your Elephant Coast safari to Utshwayelo Lodge on the world-renowned Kosi Bay lake system. Situated near the mouth of the estuary, just 50 km from Tembe, rustic Utshwayelo Lodge offers you access to pristine beaches and superb snorkeling along with lake and surf angling. In addition, a range of activities includes turtle watching, guided kayak tours and boat cruises through the channels of the lake system with its ancestral Tonga fish kraals.

A familiarisation tour to the Kosi Mouth on arrival and daily transfers to and from the beach and Kosi Mouth are included in your tariff.

Your secluded Tembe-style safari tents are located away from the self-catering chalets and campsites, although these visitors do have access to the communal areas which include a dining and recreational area boasting a poolside bar where you can socialise and share your Elephant Coast experiences with many travellers from all walks of life.

Developed once more in partnership with the Tonga community, Utshwayelo Lodge is the ideal destination to unwind or enjoy a host of activities such as hiking, guided kayak tours, snorkeling and more.

Please note many of the activities available in the Kosi Bay region are tide, wind and weather dependent (and are not included in the standard tariff).

Transfers to/ from King Shaka International Airport can be arranged on request.
